Stone carvings are classified according to their uses
1、观赏、挂戴和收藏石制工艺饰品石雕。如种玉器饰物，各种观赏石及摆设件。这类石雕制品体积比较小。

2、石窟和摩崖石雕。如敦煌石窟、云岗石窟、龙门石窟等。
