门狮是指传统建筑中大门两旁设置的石狮
门狮是指传统建筑中大门两旁设置的石狮。民间建筑中通常被作为守门的瑞兽。由于受封等级规制约束，民宅门前是不能越制摆放的，古代民间建筑中，门狮多摆放于村镇口，祠堂，会馆，王府，园林等场所。其用意在于避凶纳福，镇宅守候。如今现代多置于博物馆，文化公园，一些对中华传统文化热爱，素质高雅的成功人士的人私家会所，别墅等地方。和古代一样是社会地位和身份的象征，同时也是个人素养的一种体现。
